About Safe & Healthy Kids
The Department of Safe & Healthy Kids is committed to emphasizing the contribution that trained students can make on our campuses and towards addressing some of the complex issues facing young people. Youth have a voice and a stake in the outcomes of such issues as obesity, bullying and school climate, or even the dropout rate. Our role is to guide students into skilled, meaningful action that invokes substantive changes in issues that are important to them.
FRESH
Fresno’s Recreation, Enrichment and Scholastic Help (FRESH) after-school partnership serves more than 30,000 students, providing a safe and enriching environment at the end of every school day until 6 pm. Programs are aligned with the regular day and provide homework assistance, enrichment opportunities, physical activity, and healthy snacks.
